  • College of Saint Rose (Current educational activity continues through the 2023-2024 academic year)

    • The institution’s Board of Trustees voted to cease academic instruction after the end of the 2023-2024 academic year. The specific date is yet to be confirmed.
    • The College of Saint Rose remains in good standing with NYSED, holding an absolute charter with authority to award the degrees associated with all registered programs until its date of official closure.
    • The College has a dedicated FAQ page regarding the closure: https://www.strose.edu/faqs-12-1-23/
    • Additional information can be found at: https://www.nysed.gov/college-university-evaluation/college-saint-rose-c...
  • The King’s College (TKC) (Potential Closure - No Current Educational Activity)

    • On July 27, 2023, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education acted to acknowledge the institutional closure of The King's College (NY) while on adverse action status. Accreditation ceased effective August 31, 2023. As of September 1, 2023, The King's College (NY) is no longer accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
    • The United States Department of Education (USDE) terminated TKC’s eligibility to participate in all federal student aid programs, effective on August 31, 2023.
    • There are currently no students enrolled in any academic programs at the college and there has been no educational activity at the college since July 28, 2023.
    • TKC currently partners with the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcripts and degree verifications. TKC’s website includes the following instructions: To request a transcript, start typing either “The King’s College,” “The King’s College at Briarcliff Manor,” or “Northeastern Bible College” and the form will fill in the rest for you.
    • Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
  • ASA College (Potential Closure - No Current Educational Activity)

    • ASA College’s former accreditor, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) announced that the institution closed on February 24, 2023, and that its accreditation ceased on March 1, 2023.
    • The United States Department of Education also considers ASA College closed, effective February 24, 2023.
    • Although the institution has not confirmed to NYSED that it intends to close, there has been no educational activity at the institution since February 24, 2023.
    • Due to the loss of its accreditation with MSCHE and additional concerns, NYSED conducted a program review of ASA College’s capacity to continue to offer academic programs; as a result, all registered degree and certificate programs at New York campuses were discontinued as of December 22, 2023.
    • Additionally, ASA College continues to be under review for its capacity to continue to have degree-conferring authority in New York State.
