Annotated Unit Plan Exemplar
To assist educators in understanding what a thematic unit plan aligned to the NYS Learning Standards for World Languages looks like in detail, the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages has developed an annotated version of the Places of Importance Unit Plan Exemplar. These annotations provide additional useful information for each section of the unit plan.
Unit Plan Exemplars Developed by NYS Teachers (LiveBinders)
To build the capacity of NYS educators in developing thematic unit plans aligned to the NYS Learning Standards for World Languages, the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages has offered both online and in-person workshops on unit design for several years. During these professional learning events, educators developed their own unit plans, some of which were submitted to OBEWL for review and inclusion in our collection of vetted unit plan exemplars for world languages. This collection is housed on a searchable digital platform called LiveBinders. To access this collection, click here.
