The following is a collection of past data and resources from the beginning of New York State's accountability system under the federally approved Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which was signed by President Obama in 2015.  The system has been in place since the 2018-19 school year.  Note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Department of Education approved a two-year pause in accountability determinations for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years.  Contact accountinfo@nysed.gov to locate past archived accountability information that is not provided here.

The following materials were developed in 2022 in preparation for restarting the ESSA accountability system for the 2022-23 school year.  These resources were provided, some in draft form, to inform stakeholders and to seek stakeholder input.  The final, approved full text of the ESSA Accountability State Plan Addendum and USDE approval letter of the addendum can be found here.
