School Improvement Grant (SIG) Funding
NYSED provides supplemental funding through Title I 1003 School Improvement Grant (SIG) opportunities to eligible Target Districts to support improvement within the district and in identified schools.
All Target Districts are eligible to receive funding to support the development and implementation of their District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP) and development and implementation of any school-level improvement plans for schools identified as Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI), and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI). The 2023-24 SIG Basic Application can be accessed through the NYSED Business Portal. The 2023-24 SIG Basic Announcement provides additional information about the grant offering for the 2023-24 school year.

Additional SIG Opportunities
For the 2023-24 school year, the Department is supporting the following Title I 1003 grants for eligible schools in addition to SIG Basic:
- SIG High School Redesign (For those schools that previously participated in NYSED's High School Redesign program.)
- SIG Coaching for Excellence (Application closed – For districts with eligible schools in the CSI model of support.)
- SIG Targeted Support for Long-Term Identified Schools (For districts with eligible Receivership Schools that are participating in NYSED's Specialized Coaching support in 2023-24.)
