Required Actions

 Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) model:

Schools that are part of the Comprehensive Support and Improvement model must complete the following actions:

  • Conduct annual surveys of parents, staff, and students.  For more information, visit the Surveys page. 
  • Complete a Needs Assessment led by a team of stakeholders from the school. For more information, visit the Needs Assessment page.  
  • Develop, in consultation with parents and school staff an annual School Comprehensive Education Plan (SCEP) that is submitted to NYSED for approval. For more information, visit the Improvement Planning page.   
  • Identify an evidence-based intervention to be included within the annual improvement plan, visit the Evidence-Based Interventions page. 
  • Participate in support organized through NYSED.
  • Implement a process designed to support parent and student participation in decision-making through a Civic Empowerment Project.  

Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) model
Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) model

Schools that are part of the Additional Targeted Support and Improvement model or the Targeted Support and Improvement model must complete the following actions:

  • Conduct annual surveys of parents, staff, and students.  For more information, visit the Surveys page. 
  • Complete a Needs Assessment led by a team of stakeholders from the school. For more information, visit the Needs Assessment page.  
  • Develop, in consultation with parents and school staff an annual School Comprehensive Education Plan (SCEP) that is submitted to the district for approval. For more information, visit the Improvement Planning page.   
  • Identify an evidence-based intervention to be included within the annual improvement plan, visit the Evidence-Based Interventions page. 
  • Participate in support organized through the district and/or BOCES.

Target District Required Actions

  • All Target Districts are required to develop an annual District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP) informed by school-level needs assessments and SCEPs completed within the district.
