School Improvement Grant (SIG) Funding
NYSED provides supplemental funding through Title I 1003 School Improvement Grant (SIG) opportunities to eligible Target Districts to support improvement within the district and in identified schools.
SIG Basic
All Target Districts are eligible to receive funding to support the implementation of their District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP) and implementation of any school-level improvement plans for schools identified as Comprehensive Support and Improvement and Targeted Support and Improvement. SIG Basic Application
The 2022-23 SIG Basic Application can be accessed through the NYSED Business Portal. The 2022-23 SIG Basic Announcement provides additional information about the grant offering for the 2022-23 school year. Districts are eligible to receive $50,000 to implement their DCIP, $225,000 to support the implementation of any CSI school SCEP, and $75,000 to support the implementation of any TSI school SCEP.

Additional SIG Opportunities
For the 2022-23 school year, the Department is supporting the following Title I 1003 grants for eligible schools in addition to SIG Basic:
- SIG High School Redesign (Application closed - for those continuing with NYSED’s High School Redesign program)
- SIG Coaching for Excellence (Application closed – for districts with eligible CSI schools)
- SIG Targeted Support for Long-Term Identified Schools (Application closed - for those continuing to participate in NYSED’s Targeted Support program)
