Charter School Office Portal Help Guides

The Charter School Office (CSO) is in the process of transitioning applications from SurveyMonkey Apply ("CSO Portal") to the NYSED Application Business Portal ("NYSED Business Portal") using the SED Monitoring and Vendor Performance System.  We are happy to announce that as part of the third phase of this rollout, on July 7, 2025, the "Charter Renewal Application" will be available in the NYSED Business Portal. Therefore, as of July 7, 2025, all new applications for Charter Renewals must be completed and submitted using the NYSED Application Business Portal (and selecting SED Monitoring and Vendor Performance System), and any revision request associated with the renewal application must also be completed in the NYSED Application Business Portal

As of June 30, 2025, all new applications for charter school revision requests must be completed and submitted using the NYSED Application Business Portal; however, any revision request applications in progress or submitted, but not yet approved, in the CSO Portal prior to June 30, 2025, will be finalized there. In addition, as of June 16, 2025, all new applications for adding a Board of Trustees (BOT) member must be completed and submitted using the NYSED Business Portal; however, any BOT applications in progress or submitted, but not yet approved, in the CSO Portal prior to June 16, 2025, will be finalized there. With each new application added to the NYSED Business Portal, the CSO has provided BOR-authorized charter schools with an email notification and application-specific portal instructions and guidance, which can also be found below.
