Transcripts from Closed Colleges

NOTE: FOR INFORMATION RELATING TO ASA COLLEGE GO TO THE ASA College (Potential Closure) webpage.

The chart below lists the names of New York State colleges that have closed and the location of their student transcripts.

Important: 

  • You must contact the location directly to request your transcript.
  • The New York State Education Department is the location of transcripts from the following three closed colleges only:
    • Globe Institute of Technology
    • Institute of Design and Construction
    • Taylor Business Institute

To request a copy of your transcript from one of these three colleges, complete and submit the NYSED Transcript Request Form. It may be mailed in or emailed as an attachment to OCUEINFO@nysed.gov. We will search the transcripts in our possession and notify you of the outcome of our search. Please note that the Department only has in its possession transcripts that were given to us by the colleges. Processing time for these requests takes an average of 14 business days.

  • Questions about transcripts from non-degree nursing schools should be directed to the Office of the Professions (518) 474-3817 Ext. 360.
  • Questions about transcripts from non-degree proprietary schools (trade and technical schools or registered private business schools) should be directed to the Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (518) 474-3969.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for Third-party vendors seeking enrollment verification

  • ​The New York State Education Department is the location of transcripts from the following three closed colleges only:
    • Globe Institute of Technology
    • Institute of Design and Construction
    • Taylor Business Institute
  • The only enrollment verification that the Department will provide to third-party vendors regarding a former student from one of these colleges is a copy of a student’s transcript.
  • The Department cannot: 
    • Complete enrollment verification forms submitted as attachments or accessed through a website.
    • Verify enrollment over the phone or over email.
  • To request a copy of a student’s transcript for the purposes of enrollment verification:
