Accountability Waiver Public Survey

November 4, 2021:

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking stakeholder input on a potential waiver request to the United States Department of Education (USDE) related to making school and district accountability determinations based on results from the 2021-22 school year under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

NYSED is accepting responses to the survey through 5:00p.m. EST on Friday, November 19, 2021.  The survey results will be valuable in the development of a possible waiver.  If the Department moves forward with a potential waiver, that document would be made available approved for public comment and be presented to the Board of Regents prior to submission to USDE.

The survey can be found here. The survey was created in Microsoft Forms and can be translated into languages other than English with a browser’s translator.  Further instructions on how to translate the survey are available here.

The survey will be receiving responses through 5:00p.m. EST on Friday, November 19, 2021.
