Notification of Intent: Provisional Authorization Application
Submission Confirmation
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has received your Notification of Intent to apply for provisional authorization to open a New York State college or university. Application files are submitted using a secure web-based file-transfer service. The following steps outline how to gain access to your proposed institution’s application submission folder:
- An email invitation from “NYSED GoAnywhere Server <goanywhere@nysed.gov>” will be sent to the email addresses of the primary and, if applicable, secondary contacts, as provided on the Notification of Intent form. (Note that the invitation link will expire after two weeks.)
- Follow the link provided in the email to register with the NYSED GoAnywhere Server.
- After you register, the NYSED GoAnywhere Server will request an email confirmation of your email address.
- Reply to this message, confirming your email address. The email confirmation request may arrive up to 24 hours after registration. If you do not see the confirmation message in your email inbox, please check your junk mail/spam folder.
- The NYSED GoAnywhere Server will send a subsequent email that provides access to the application submission folder.
Note: You will not be able to access the submission folder until you have replied to the email confirmation request and receive the second email.
After all your application materials are complete, they must be uploaded to the proposed institution’s application submission folder. (Please do not place draft copies of files in the folder, as this may result in the wrong files being considered by NYSED.) In submitting your application, be sure to:
- Transfer all files to the application submission folder.
- Not submit a paper copy of the application.
- Send an email to IHEauthorize@nysed.gov to notify NYSED staff that the entire application has been uploaded and is ready for review. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
NYSED will not begin reviewing an application before all the following have been received:
- The email stating that the application has been uploaded;
- All application files; and
- Payment of fees.
The submission of an application does not guarantee that the proposed institution’s application will ultimately be approved.
