The dates for the January, June, and August 2022 Regents Examination periods are being provided at this time to assist schools and districts with developing their local school calendars for the 2021-22 school year. We very much appreciate all the input from superintendents and other school and district leaders that enabled us to arrive at these dates.

The Regents Examination periods are determined with the following factors taken into consideration: The January examination period is four days, and is scheduled close to the end of the month. The June 2022 examination period is seven days, scheduled close to the end of the month but allowing at least two weekdays in June after the examination period ends. The August examination period is two days, and is scheduled to allow for a 30-day summer school session ending with the examinations.

Specific examination schedules for these three examination periods will be provided near the end of this school year. Prior to finalizing the schedules, we will be providing drafts and asking for feedback regarding the draft schedules in much the same way that we sought out and utilized feedback from school and district leaders on these final dates.

Final dates for the January 2022 Regents Examination period:

Tuesday, January 25 through Friday, January 28

Final dates for the June 2022 Regents Examination period:

Wednesday, June 1* (the first administration of the new Regents Examination in U.S. History and Government)

Wednesday, June 15 through Friday, June 24. No State examinations will be administered on Monday, June 20 to allow for the weekday observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Friday, June 24 will be a Rating Day; no State examinations will be administered on this date.

Final dates for the August 2022 Regents Examination period:

Tuesday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 17

*Administration of this examination takes place early in the month to allow time for score collection and standard setting in order to be able to post the conversion chart by June 24.
