Section 70.1 Transfer Determinations Between Professional Educator Titles Grade 22, 26, and 28
Current New York State employees who meet the requirements for transfer are encouraged to utilize the information below to determine transfer opportunities among professional educator titles at the New York State Education Department.
All transfer candidates must meet the following requirements per Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law:
- Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive* or 55b/c service in an approved title; and
- The titles must be within two salary grades; and
- Consecutive transfers cannot result in more than a two-salary grade advancement; and
- Candidates must possess any special credentials, as applicable, outlined below.
* Service in provisional or temporary status is not credited as time in title for transfer purposes.
