New Process for Work-Based Learning Registration
As of May 22, 2025, there is a new process for work-based learning program registrations, re-registrations, and amendments. All three processes now take place via the NYSED business portal. For 2025 re-registrations, a survey, entitled “Work-Based Learning Registration Form” has been sent to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of your district/BOCES in the SED Monitoring and Vendor Performance System. The CEO can then assign the registration to the proper entities. Given the design of the business portal, the Office of Career and Technical Education is unable to assign the task to anyone other than the CEO. For directions on how to create and assign users in the business portal, please view the SEDDAS User Guide. For first time registrations and districts/BOCES who need to amend their WBL registrations, please contact the Office of Career and Technical Education at emsccte@nysed.gov so the survey can be assigned.
The use of the business portal allows for a more efficient and secure means of transferring data to the New York State Education Department. It will also allow the ability to make changes throughout the five-year registration cycle as well as archive the submission in the event of a change in administrator or work-based learning coordinator. The registration form is very similar to the one that has been in use. For the 2025-2026 school year, please type "2025 Work-Based Learning Registration" in the unique identifier box.
If there are questions regarding the registration process, application, and/or program guidelines, please contact the Office of Career and Technical Education at emsccte@nysed.gov.
