Tours of the State Education Building

Free monthly tours of the historic State Education Building will be held the second Saturday of each month at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., starting August 12, 2017. Each tour can accommodate 25 people and reservations are required. Reservations must be made at: Office of General Services: ​New York State Capitol Tour Program.

The 45-minute Education Building tour will be led by New York State Museum staff and visitors will have the opportunity to explore the historic Chancellors Hall, Regents Room and the Rotunda adorned with murals by Albany native Will H. Low. The Education Building is located at 89 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY. Click here for driving directions.

In addition to the Education Building tours, the public can also sign up to take Saturday tours of the State Capitol, located across the street from the Education Building. The State Capitol tours will also be offered on the second Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Reservations must be made at: Office of General Services: ​New York State Capitol Tour Program.
