2020 PAEMST National Awardees (K-6) Recently Announced by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy

On February 8, 2022, the White House announced the 2020 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) awardees from each state, including two from New York.

• 2020 PAEMST New York State Mathematics Awardee (K-6): Leslie Anson, Millbrook Middle School, Millbrook, NY
• 2020 PAEMST New York State Mathematics Awardee (K-6): Lynda Brennan, RP Connor Elementary School, Suffern, NY

Awardees for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching complete a rigorous application process that requires them to demonstrate their excellence in content knowledge and ability to adapt to a broad range of learners. The PAEMST are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching.
