NYSED-ACTFL Virtual Learning Workshops
The Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (OBEWL) at the New York State Education Department (NYSED) is proud to present a free series of three NYS Virtual Learning Workshops aligned to the proposed revisions to the NYS Languages Other Than English Standards for world language educators working at schools within New York State. These virtual workshops will be available for on-demand use for the standards implementation through 2029.
NYSAWLA, in collaboration with the New York State Education Department’s Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (NYSED-OBEWL), is offering this free, online workshop for world language teachers and administrators working in New York State schools on January 20, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Leslie Grahn, noted leader, presenter, author, and blogger in the field of world language education, will present Embedding Authentic Resources into Lesson Plans, to explore how to make authentic text work for teachers in the various phases of lesson planning. New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers (NYSAFLT) Events
The NYSAFLT Spring Conference (aka NYSA-Fair) will be held virtually on Saturday, March 6, 2021. There will be 8 live-streamed sessions and several more pre-recorded options to select from. Attendees will be able to earn up to 5 CTLE hours. Registration will be open soon. Presenters will represent the many Member Organizations of NYSAFLT and regions of our state.
