"I dropped out at 18, and I thought that was the end," recalled Johnny Lozado of Bushwick, NY. In this video, find out how the Bridge Program at LaGuardia Community College turned his life around. Not only did Lozada get his high school equivalency at age 40, he went on to graduate from college and get a full time job. Now, the New York State Board of Regents wants to expand successful Bridge programs like the ones at LaGuardia and Orleans Niagara BOCES to regions across the State. A 10-million-dollar investment by the legislature would open the doors for thousands of adult learners. Studies have shown that Bridge programs have out-performed traditional high school equivalency models in retention, and college/job placement.
