The Office of Educational Management Services provides technical assistance and oversight regarding the management of NYS school districts and BOCES and their use of education resources. Included in the office’s responsibilities is providing support for legislative and regulatory initiatives and contributing to policy development.
The individuals in these two intern positions will work with the program lead to complete the required review and processing of Smart Schools Bond Act Investment plans and reimbursement claims. As time permits, other duties that the office is required to complete will also be part of the internship experience. Such duties might include review of district-submitted data, creation of reports, and providing data to other offices within the Department or to other state agencies.
As part of this internship process, it is expected that those in these positions will have opportunities to talk and work with both SED staff and potentially experts outside of the Department.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and with SED staff, be competent with various computer softwares and applications, and be able to write and communicate efficiently.
It is expected that both of these internships will be 25 hours per week.
