The Office of Ed. Management Services works directly with school districts, BOCES and non-public schools in such areas as transportation, school district organization/reorganization, financial and governance issues and the Smart Schools Bond Act.
The assignments will likely be in-depth analyses of various educational and education finance topics. They may include topics such as the Property Tax Cap, School district budgeting and educational opportunities for students in different environments.
Any webinars or trainings that Ed. Management staff may participate in will hopefully be made available to students in the internship program.
Areas of interest/study would include public policy, statistics, data modeling and public economics. Any focus on education is a plus. Candidates should be versed in MS Office. Ability to communicate thoroughly and succinctly is desired. A Bachelors or Masters degree is ideal.
While the exact amount of time needed is to be determined, it would likely be 10-15 hours per week.
