Program Office/Description: 

SORIS works directly with Nonpublic school leaders, associations, families and outside agencies in such areas as transportation, State and Federal Grant programs, chartering and opening of schools, and registration of schools.

The Assignment (Description of Job): 

The assignments will likely be in-depth analyses of various educational and education finance topics.  They may include topics such as the determining eligibility of for grant funds, analysis of data for new schools, reopening of schools and closing schools, assist with FOIL requests, website restructuring, high school registration and other task as assigned.

Any webinars or trainings that SORIS staff may participate in will hopefully be made available to students in the internship program.

Desired Skills, Abilities, & Educational Background: 

Areas of interest/study would include law, public policy, education and statistics.  Any focus on education is a plus.  Candidates should be versed in MS Office.  Ability to communicate thoroughly and succinctly is desired.  A Bachelors or Masters degree is ideal.


While the exact amount of time needed is to be determined, it would likely be 10-15 hours per week.
