Mandated Services Aid Winter Intern

Program Office/Description: 

Mandated Services Aid (MSA) is a New York State funded reimbursement program for nonpublic schools. The nonpublic schools receive reimbursement for the state mandates that they have met in the prior school year (July 1 to June 30). In order to receive reimbursement, the nonpublic school must have met the requirements of the mandate and have documentation to support it. The reimbursement request, or claim, must be processed via our online system.

The Assignment (Description of Job): 

MSA-CAP intern assist with the following duties:

*Update the MSA-CAP guidance documents for the upcoming claim year.
*Update informaton pertaining to guidance/forms on the MSA-CAP website. 
*Assist with creating a shared MSA-CAP document for office staff.
*Assess the MSA-CAP system and make recommendations for improving system.
*Assist with technical issues, including answering phone calls/emails and processing documents associated with claims for the upcoming claim year.

Desired Skills, Abilities, & Educational Background: 

* Business student preferred but not required.
*Knowlege of MS Office programs, including MS Word and Excel.
* Abiliity to work independently on assigned task.

Schedule/Hours: 

* 20 Hours. There is flexibility depending on the intern availability. Intern must be available between the hours of 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
