Indigenous Education Office Student Intern

Program Office/Description: 

Office of Indigenous Education: Oversee's 13 school districts and 3 SED on-reserve schools tuition, supplemental funds, and Transportation contracts, payments, proposals and IFB (Invitation for Bids) transportation vendors. Providing school district School Business Officials and Tribal Nation Leadership  with Technical Support. 
Assisting college/university and trades students with NYS Indian Aid funding for two and four year students, trades students who attend NYS recognized and approved schools. 
Coordinating Indigenous Education Conference, My Brothers Keeper Indigenous Student Career and College Fair, and Indigenous Education Advisory Council meetings. 
Assisting SED with Capital Projects for SED owned on-reserve schools building projects.

The Assignment (Description of Job): 

Student Intern will work on the creation of Indigenous Education website and updating of recent information.
Research educational data needed for SED reporting on Indigenous student academic, graduation, attendance and careers.
Assist with Higher Education the creation of a student recruitment outreach for student number increase.
Assist Coordinator on long-term and short-term projects.
As needed on special assignment request of Coordinator and P12  Manager.

Bachelors Degree - Education , Political Studies, Educationla Leadership/Administration, Native American /Indigenous Studies , Computer Programming

Graduate/Masters of Education, Educational Leadership/Adminstration, Policital Studies,  Computer Programming 

Schedule/Hours: 

Student Interns will complete a schedule of 20 hours per week during the Winter Intersession.
