The Office of Governmental Relations is responsible for the tracking of relevant legislation; addressing policy and constituent related questions from the NYS Congressional delegation, Executive, and Legislature; developing and communicating Board of Regents budget and legislative priority proposals; preparing Commissioner briefings; and providing technical assistance on legislation.
- Tracking the status of education related bills;
- Assisting in the preparation of legislative and budget priority materials;
- Assisting in responding to legislative office requests; and
- Ability to assist in any additional duties of the Office of Governmental Relations as they arise
The intern will gain experience in a fast-paced governmental relations office and develop writing, legislative research, communication, and other skills.
