The Office of Educational Design and Technology obtains guidance from the following advisory groups:
The USNY Technology Policy and Practice Council (TPPC) was created by the Board of Regents as a representative group of USNY members who could advise them on technology issues. The TPPC was responsible for the creation of the USNY Statewide Learning Technology Plan, approved by the Board of Regents in February 2010. The Office of Educational Design and Technology is charged with implementing this plan for the Department.
The Educational Technology Advisory Council (ETAC) was formed in 2017 to advise the Office of Educational Design and Technology on topics such as technology planning, professional development, online and blended learning, innovative educational technology practices, and technology literacy. Its twenty-six members include teachers, school librarians, school and district-level administrators, representatives of higher education, BOCES, Regional Information Centers, and members of education-related state-wide organizations with an interest in Educational Technology.
The ETAC advises the Office of Educational Design and Technology on topics such as Technology Planning, Professional Development, Online and Blended learning, Innovative Educational Technology Practices, and Technology Literacy.
